OUR MISSION

Meaningful Power Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing, supporting, and building pipelines for youth and young leaders to shape their communities and future careers.

Through hands-on STEM education, leadership development, financial literacy training, and technology workshops, we equip the next generation with the tools they need to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

WHAT WE DO

  • STEM Education

    We introduce students to emerging technologies such as robotics, programming, AI, cybersecurity, and networking through hands-on learning experiences.

  • Leadership Development

    We cultivate confident leaders by helping students develop communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Financial Literacy

    Students learn essential money skills including budgeting, investing, entrepreneurship, and wealth building.

  • Digital Equity

    We help bridge the digital divide by ensuring the youth gain access to technology and digital career pathways.

OUR FOUNDER

From Detroit to NASA to Community Leadership

Meaningful Power Foundation was founded by Dr. Derwin Warren, a Detroit native whose career in technology spans NASA, Cisco, and global technology leadership.

Growing up on Detroit’s Eastside, Dr. Warren experienced firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing the youth in our communities. After achieving success in the technology industry, he felt called to return and invest in the next generation.

During a humanitarian visit to Africa, a community member told him:

"The work you are doing here should also be done for your own people."

Those words inspired the creation of Meaningful Power Foundation.

Today, Dr. Warren leads the organization with a mission to ensure that young people have access to the knowledge, resources, and mentorship needed to become future innovators, leaders, and change-makers.
